Child Welfare Specialist

This Child Welfare Specialist position requires a skilled professional to work with high-risk families in Pinellas County. As a specialist, you will provide therapeutic services in-home to strengthen the protective capacities of caregivers and reduce the risk of child abuse and neglect.
You will work collaboratively with the Integrated Decision Team (IDT) and provide face-to-face visits with families to ensure comprehensive support. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong understanding of strength-based approaches, interpersonal conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities- Provide in-home therapeutic services to high-risk families.
- Participate in the IDT process to ensure comprehensive support for families.
- Identify and address interpersonal conflicts, including domestic violence and trauma-related Adverse Childhood Experiences.
- A Master's Degree in Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 2 years of experience working with at-risk populations, including families experiencing substance misuse, domestic violence, mental health, and emotionally disturbed children.
- CAP certification is preferred.
