We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgical Technology Educator to join our team at Central Piedmont Community College. As a Surgical Technology Educator, you will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the operating room scrub role, as well as developing and implementing curriculum to ensure students meet the necessary competencies for success in the field.
Key Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in the operating room scrub role, providing hands-on training and guidance to ensure students meet the necessary competencies for success in the field.
- Develop and implement curriculum to ensure students meet the necessary competencies for success in the field, including developing and updating course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments.
- Contribute to the growth and enhancement of the college's mission and programs, including participating in professional activities, serving on college committees, and contributing to curriculum development processes.
- Maintain familiarity with college goals, mission, and long-range plans, and contribute to planning and development processes through appropriate mechanisms and channels.
- Perform professional responsibilities in accordance with pertinent goals, missions, and plans of the college, division, and programs.
- Associate degree in Surgical Technology or related field, current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology Surgical Association (NBSTSA), and a minimum of three years of experience in the operating room scrub role, an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both.
- OR; Associate degree, current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the National Board of Surgical Technology Surgical Association (NBSTSA), and a minimum of five years of experience in the operating room scrub role, an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both.
- A minimum of three calendar years of full-time clinical experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Prior teaching experience in an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- A variety of surgical case experience in an operating room scrub role.
- A minimum of five years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past ten years.
