Job Summary

As a Surgical Technologist at Baptist Memorial Health Care, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgical team during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and providing essential support to the surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing the surgical suite, moving patients, and cleaning the area
  • Provide aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions to ensure the surgeon's optimal performance
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the surgical team
  • Assist in providing intraoperative care and safely utilizing equipment and supplies
  • Participate in ongoing educational activities and complete assigned goals
Requirements
  • Hold a current National Certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) as a surgical technologist
  • OR demonstrate education and training through one of the following methods under TN Code Ann. (a)
  • Completion of a CAAHEP accredited program in surgical technology
  • Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technologists in the armed forces, CAAHEP accredited hospital, or CAAHEP accredited ambulatory surgical treatment cancer program
  • OR successfully completed the surgical technologists NBSTSA certifying exam
  • OR grandfathered under TN Code Ann.
