Position Summary:
This role is for a Hair Restoration Specialist with a preference for candidates experienced in FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction). The specialist will collaborate with leading hair restoration surgeons and a skilled team of technicians, actively participating in procedures and providing care for patients, both male and female, experiencing hair loss.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, disassemble, and maintain surgical instruments, machinery, and microscopes for FUT and FUE procedures.
- Conduct blood draws and support the nurse practitioner with injectable treatments.
- Assess the donor site size using a densitometer in conjunction with the nurse and prepare the area for surgery.
- Assist the physician in marking the recipient site prior to graft placement.
- Manually prepare and count grafts for placement, ensuring graft integrity throughout the procedure.
- Support the placement of grafts in accordance with the physician's strategy.
- Stay informed about current literature related to hair loss and treatment options.
- Provide patient education throughout the procedure.
- Ensure patient comfort during the procedure.
- Set up equipment necessary for graft placement.
- Verify accuracy of graft counts.
- Assist with the application of dressings post-procedure.
- Help maintain and review hair logs, patient records, and photographic documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience as a Hair Technician is preferred.
- Experience in electronic assembly is advantageous.
- An artistic background is a plus.
- Exhibit excellent manual dexterity with speed and precision.
- Able to maintain a high level of productivity and accuracy.
- Must thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to engage in moderate periods of sitting, walking, and standing.
Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, hours vary based on the surgical schedule.
- Surgical days typically require hours from early morning until case completion, often extending into the evening.
- Flexible scheduling is available on non-surgical days.
