Cardiovascular Laboratory Technologist

The Cath Lab Technologist plays a vital role in the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory, executing a variety of specialized tasks. This includes operating advanced radiographic fluoroscopic equipment during both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
- Certification from one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience in diagnostic and interventional procedures within a cardiac or general catheterization setting.
- At least one year of experience in digital and cine imaging, as well as archiving.
- Proficiency in X-ray operations, monitoring, and scrubbing.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
On-Call Responsibilities:
- $4.00/hour while on call, with a minimum of 8 shifts per month, including 1-2 weekends.
- Minimum of 2 hours of pay when called in, compensated at time and a half.
Case Load: Expect to handle over 30 scheduled cases weekly, including procedures such as TCAR, AAA, Peripheral vascular interventions, Pacemaker and Defibrillator placements, Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, STEMI, and Stroke interventions.
Shift Differentials:
- Evening Shift (3 PM – 11:30 PM) = 8% additional pay
- Night Shift (11 PM – 7:30 AM) = 11% additional pay
- No Weekend Differential
The Cath Lab Technologist collaborates closely with physicians, technologists, and nursing staff to foster a supportive and customer-friendly environment in the laboratory. Participation in call rotation is required, along with adherence to flexible shift scheduling.
