About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Fence Installation Driver to join our team at United Rentals. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for delivering, installing, removing, and repairing temporary fencing equipment in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a fencing truck daily, ensuring proper load securement and performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to guarantee safe and correct operation.
  • Perform pre-use and post-use inspections on fence installation tools to ensure their safe and correct operation.
  • Meet with customers to review assigned fencing projects prior to installation and follow up as required throughout the installation project.
  • Prepare customer job sites for fence installation, set fence poles, install fence, and pull fence with appropriate tools and to customer specifications.
  • Coordinate the work of the Fence Installation Associate, routinely inspecting work progress and training on safety protocols and proper fence installation techniques.
  • Repair temporary fencing units at job sites as requested by customers and provide onsite moves, pick-up/delivery of fencing as needed.
  • May operate a forklift for loading and unloading of fencing truck, moving fencing equipment/materials on company property, or at a customer job site.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Diligent attention to safety and basic knowledge of safe driving procedures.
  • One (1) year of truck driving experience required (CDL license is preferred, but not required), DOT medical card must be obtained prior to commencing employment.
  • Two (2) years fencing and/or construction industry experience is preferred (Training is provided).
  • Ability to locate and understand utility markings, and follow requirements for underground utility safety (training provided).
  • Ability to operate a forklift (training provided).
  • Superior customer service, excellent verbal communication skills, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to mount and dismount trucks multiple times daily, frequently lift, move, push, pull, twist, and turn items up to 45 pounds, and in excess of 45 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to drive day or night, work effectively in all weather conditions, and customer work environments.
  • Some weekend work may be required as business conditions dictate.
