Objective
The Survey Technician is responsible for delivering essential surveying services, which encompass layout and measurement tasks for various construction initiatives. This role includes the marking of tree protection zones, drainage systems, sanitation lines, curbs, and utility placements.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the precision of survey control through thorough measurements and calculations at designated survey locations.
- Set up project sites, including establishing base stations and localizing areas for GPS-enabled heavy machinery.
- Conduct preliminary topographic surveys of the site.
- Provide comprehensive job site staking.
- Perform as-built surveys for site utilities.
- Execute drone-based surveys.
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred experience of at least 1 year, though we are open to training a highly motivated individual with some background in construction layout.
- Familiarity with Trimble GPS systems and Robotic Total Stations.
- Proficient in Trimble SCS 900 and Siteworks field software.
- Experience in various aspects of site layout including calibration, curb staking, utility placement, as-built surveys, and topographic assessments.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Possession of a remote drone pilot license or the ability to acquire one.
