Fire Protection Equipment Specialist

The Fire Protection Equipment Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety of kitchen environments through the inspection, maintenance, and installation of fire safety systems, including portable extinguishers and kitchen suppression systems, in compliance with relevant fire safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of fire extinguishers in line with NFPA 10 standards and kitchen suppression systems as per NFPA 17-17A and UL 300 guidelines.
  • Evaluate and repair pre-engineered fire suppression systems from manufacturers such as ANSUL, Pyro Chem, RangeGuard, and Kidde.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of NFPA standards, manufacturer specifications, and local fire codes pertaining to fire safety systems.
  • Provide on-site emergency troubleshooting for fire suppression systems.
  • Identify and address NFPA code violations and non-compliance issues.
  • Adapt to flexible working hours to meet testing and inspection schedules.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate inspection reports with customer acknowledgment, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.
  • Deliver professional communication and exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in inspecting fire suppression systems is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Detail-oriented with a professional demeanor.
  • Proficient in using Google Docs.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to interact professionally with team members and vendors.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing accuracy.
  • Physical capability to handle equipment and tools weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work in challenging positions, including climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NAFED certification.
  • NICET Level I certification.
  • Backflow prevention license.
