We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatic Safety Specialist to join our team at Loveland, CO. As a key member of our aquatic safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers at our swim beaches and pools.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance the image of our Recreation Department by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
- Ensure a safe environment by communicating with and taking direction from supervisory personnel related to lifeguard rotations, ratios, completion of daily operational and cleaning duties, checking safety equipment, water testing, and ensuring proper chemistry balance and clarity.
- Responsible for all aspects of opening and closing procedures, including guarding all swim areas and enforcing rules and safety regulations.
- Monitor weather conditions and work with supervisory personnel concerning unsafe conditions.
- Complete required daily paperwork and assist with comprehensive swim lesson programs, if applicable.
- Effectively respond to emergency situations and perform lifesaving procedures.
- Establish and maintain a good public relations image with guests through communications, positive interactions, and consistent enforcement of all policies and procedures.
- Disseminate and promote Parks & Recreation program information and direct guests to proper locations.
- Resolve administrative concerns by applying appropriate policies, procedures, and interactions with staff and guests.
- One (1) year lifeguarding experience required.
- One (1) year of customer service related experience required.
- Current Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
- Water Safety Instructor and Waterfront Lifeguard certification preferred.
Must possess the physical stamina to respond effectively to emergency situations by utilizing strong swimming skills. In a public pool environment, may be exposed to noisy, distracting, and stressful situations. Work will be performed in an indoor/outdoor swim facility setting encompassing a fast-paced customer service environment. Ability to move quickly and efficiently through the facility. Exposure to various pool and cleaning chemical smells while performing duties. Requires standing for long periods of time, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, moving, and positioning objects (up to 50 pounds). Must be available to work some evenings, weekend, and holiday hours. Must be at least 17 years of age.
