Join Our Team as a Mammography Technologist

We are seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality breast imaging services to our patients.

About the Role

This per diem position offers scheduling flexibility, a competitive hourly rate of pay, and differential in lieu of benefits. You will be responsible for performing routine and specialized mammographic procedures, integrating medical knowledge and technical skills with effective patient interaction to provide quality patient care and accurate diagnostic information.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, supply, and equip exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
  • Perform most appropriate examinations based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physicians and/or ordering physicians as necessary.
  • Provide patient education and instruction prior to and after examinations.
  • Apply ALARA principles to ensure appropriate radiation safety for self, staff, and patients.
  • Evaluate patients for pregnancy prior to exams as indicated.
  • Competently operate mammography equipment while performing high-quality breast imaging.
  • Adhere to and participate in maintaining MQSA and ACR standards, including QC records maintenance.
  • Perform other patient care activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned consistent with caregivers' scope of practice, training, experience, and license/certification/registration.
Requirements
  • Accredited school required: Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience preferred.
  • PACS/RIS knowledge required.
  • ARRT - Radiography required.
  • ARRT - Mammography required within 6 months.
  • Radiology Technologist - Washington required upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support required upon hire.
