Position Overview

Recognized as the 2023 Manufacturer of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers for mid-sized companies.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to manage, document, and prepare items for both incoming and outgoing shipments. The role involves operating forklifts to transport materials, equipment, and products within a manufacturing warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluates shipment methods by applying knowledge of shipping protocols, routes, and costs. Verifies incoming and outgoing shipments by comparing identifying details and measuring items against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other documentation.
  • Constructs and/or repairs wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
  • Places items into containers using spacers, fillers, and protective materials.
  • Secures covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal strapping. Marks crates or containers with identifying information and shipping instructions. Inspects and assesses incoming shipments.
  • Documents relevant information regarding damages and discrepancies in part counts. Reports shortages and communicates with the appropriate internal departments to inform relevant personnel of damages, potential damages, part counts, or other inconsistencies.
  • Directs items to various departments.
  • Operates forklift trucks or hand trucks to load, unload, move, convey, or lift shipments from the shipping and receiving platform to storage or work areas.
  • Provides instructions and guidance to others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.
  • Ensures that the finished goods/raw material warehouses are organized and that space is utilized effectively. Conducts daily cycle counts of finished goods, work in progress, and raw materials to maintain accuracy. Organizes inventory to uphold FIFO principles and maintains all necessary records while keeping the shipping and/or receiving areas clean.

Compensation: $22-$23/hour.

Work Schedule

1st shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications
  • Experience and training in: computer usage, forklift/material handling, warehouse/inventory management, and shipping/receiving operations.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a forklift license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as Global Shop Solutions or similar.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Strong work history in a comparable manufacturing environment.
