Job Title: Sanitation Lead

Palmex Food Group Tennessee LLC is seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Lead to join our team. As a key member of our facility, you will be responsible for maintaining a food-safe environment and ensuring compliance with SQF Code and company Food Safety and Quality Manual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sanitation and Cleaning: Oversee the sanitation team and ensure that all areas of the facility are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Organize and maintain equipment, inventory, and supplies used for sanitation functions.
  • Leadership and Training: Provide hands-on leadership and training to the sanitation team on cleaning schedules, chemical use, and safety protocols.
  • Quality and Food Safety: Ensure that all sanitation processes are in compliance with SQF Code and company Food Safety and Quality Manual.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities and report any food safety or quality issues to the Plant Manager.
Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: 3+ years of experience in cleaning and sanitation in a food facility, HACCP and SQF certification, and OSHA safety training.
  • Language Skills: Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaker preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, squat, and kneel or lay down, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Personal Protective Equipment:
  • Beard and hair net, various gloves, full face shield and safety eyeglasses, safety harness when needed, closed, slip-resistant boots, steel toe or composite, ear plugs, wet suit and rubber boots, and arm sleeve when needed.
