About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Voss Industries. As a key member of our supply chain team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality materials and services to support our manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Issue requests for quotes and proposals (RFQ/RFP) and select the best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
- Negotiate and manage long-term pricing agreements on critical commodities.
- Complete purchase requests with domestic and international suppliers by inputting purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and verifying all transactions.
- Handle correspondence concerning over-shipments, delivery shortages, changes in quantity, delivery dates, and prices and report such changes to the interested parties in a timely manner as required.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels consistent with targeted inventory goals and as set by management.
- Maintain accuracy of stock code information within our ERP system, including lead-time, pricing, current supplier information, current purchase order data, etc.
- Monitor supplier performance by ensuring that product is delivered as scheduled and meets specifications; maintaining appropriate files and records of meetings with suppliers to ensure company requirements are met and that supplier is aware of their performance.
- Maintain services and office equipment by conferring with suppliers; monitoring and recording service agreements to ensure terms are met.
- Create and develop demand forecasts using historical sales, market trends, and data.
- Assess and analyze situations where data may be inaccurate or incomplete.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in materials and supply chain, Bachelor's degree in business management, supply chain, or equivalent work experience.
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong systems knowledge and proficiency. ERP experience preferred, plus working knowledge of MRP and inventory management systems.
- Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking; collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to complement data. Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey information and ideas in a variety of media, tactful, confident, at all levels, internal and external.
