We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. in San Diego, CA. As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for project estimating, project scheduling, and managing RFIs. You will also prepare submittal packages, manage the flow of contractor-provided submittal data, and assist in data population of forms. Additionally, you will prepare project progress billings and assist in technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, HVAC piping equipment systems, and HVAC & plumbing equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a basic working knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design & system operation, commercial & industrial construction sequences, construction estimating, and testing procedures for HVAC systems. They will also have average proficiency with MS Project scheduling, MS Access or other database programs, and above-average proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and the Internet. The candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with project administration, project scheduling, productivity analysis, project cost control accounting, and equipment & material procurement.
