Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled A/C Mechanic II to join our team at Georgia Tech. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, replace, operate, maintain, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing components used in HVAC systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot pneumatic, electrical, and digital controls to identify and resolve issues.
  • May require purchase and accounting for HVAC-related parts and materials.
  • May require working with specialized computer applications to manage and maintain HVAC systems.
  • Provide work direction to mechanics and maintenance personnel related to HVAC system installation and maintenance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma.
  • Four years of job-related experience.
  • Universal CFC Refrigerant Recovery License.
  • State of Georgia Unrestricted HVAC License (preferred).
  • Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two years of college coursework (preferred).
Working Conditions

This position requires working around or on rotating machinery, live electrical circuits, hazardous materials, high-pressure liquids and gas, and hot surfaces. The position may also require lifting objects up to 75 pounds, working in confined spaces, noisy environments, and elevated locations, either inside or outside of a building. May require extensive after-hours work or call-backs. Job may require wearing a full-face respirator.
