Position Overview:
Our esteemed engineering firm is in search of a skilled and dedicated Project Accountant. The successful candidate will oversee the financial management and reporting for various projects, ensuring that all financial information is precise, current, and compliant with applicable regulations. This role presents a unique chance to be part of a vibrant team and contribute to the financial success of the organization. The individual will collaborate closely with project managers, offering financial insights that influence strategic decisions and uphold the profitability and financial integrity of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial elements of multiple projects, including revenue, expenses, cash flow, and financial reporting.
2. Utilize NetSuite to ensure accurate and timely financial record-keeping.
3. Prepare and deliver financial statements that reflect the financial health of projects.
4. Conduct account reconciliations to maintain accurate reporting and ledger management.
5. Analyze project profitability, revenue streams, margins, billing rates, and utilization metrics.
6. Apply principles of project accounting and cost accounting effectively.
7. Work alongside project managers to formulate project budgets and forecasts.
8. Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and relevant laws and regulations.
9. Identify financial risks and opportunities proactively, providing recommendations for mitigation and enhancement.
10. Assist in the development and execution of processes and systems to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and controls.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; a Master's degree or CPA designation is advantageous.
2. At least 3 years of experience in project accounting, cost accounting, or a related field, ideally within the engineering sector.
3. Proficiency in NetSuite or comparable accounting software is essential.
4. Strong understanding of financial statements, revenue management, cost analysis, reporting, cash flow, account reconciliation, project accounting, and financial accounting.
5. Excellent analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in handling significant amounts of information.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
7. High integrity and reliability with a strong results-oriented mindset.
8. Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make informed decisions based on timely and accurate analyses.
9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
10. Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
11. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations in engineering is a plus.
