Department Overview:

The Cyber Solutions Innovation Center is dedicated to developing solutions that leverage threat-informed cybersecurity strategies to bolster the security, safety, and resilience of essential cyber systems and infrastructures.

The Cyber Assessments division within this center is on the lookout for a Principal Cyber Assessor/Engineer to spearhead contributions across multiple portfolios. This department provides a range of cyber assessment products and overall cyber engineering expertise to support MITRE's mission. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the L521 team and collaborate closely with government partners, ensuring effective contributions to diverse work programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Department Manager and leadership team to define and implement the department's mission, vision, strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Provide technical contributions to various MITRE Space Force initiatives.
  • Deliver expert cyber testing guidance related to acquisition programs for the Space Force.
  • Engage effectively with MITRE, government entities, and contractors; communicate clearly through written reports, presentations, and collaborative discussions; and interact with peers, managers, and sponsors.
  • Encourage collaboration and integration with other organizational units within the department and across the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center.

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship with a Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, across sponsors, and within MITRE, leveraging relationships to enhance staff and work programs.
  • Strong understanding and experience in one or more cybersecurity domains.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational cybersecurity practices and commonly utilized technologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in leading teams or managing projects/tasks.
  • Documented success in employing collaborative and adaptive leadership skills.
  • This role requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in leading complex, high-visibility programs to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Adeptness in navigating political environments effectively.
  • Familiarity with advanced assessment methodologies.

Clearance Requirements:

This position requires the candidate to possess a minimum of a Secret Security Clearance. Additionally, the hired candidate must obtain a Top Secret Clearance within one year of employment.
