Department Overview:
The Cyber Solutions Innovation Center is at the forefront of developing solutions that leverage threat-informed cybersecurity strategies to bolster the security, safety, and resilience of critical cyber systems and infrastructures.
The Cyber Assessments division within this center is looking for a Principal Cyber Assessor/Engineer to spearhead contributions across our diverse portfolios. This role is essential in supporting MITRE by delivering a range of cyber assessment products and providing comprehensive cyber engineering expertise. The Cyber Assessor/Engineer will be a pivotal member of the L521 and government technical team, serving as the primary support for various sponsors and directly contributing to our varied work programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Department Manager and leadership team to define and implement the department's mission, vision, strategy, goals, and objectives.
- Provide technical contributions to one or more MITRE Space Force initiatives.
- Deliver expert acquisition-related cyber testing knowledge to multiple Space Force acquisition programs.
- Engage effectively with MITRE, government, and contractors; communicate proficiently in writing, presentations, and collaborative discussions; and interact with peers, managers, and sponsors.
- Encourage collaboration and integration with other organizational elements within the department and across the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center.
Essential Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship with a Secret Security Clearance is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, across sponsors, and within MITRE, leveraging relationships to enhance staff and work programs.
- Strong understanding and experience in one or more cybersecurity capabilities.
- Solid grasp of operational cybersecurity practices and commonly utilized technologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in leading teams or managing projects/tasks.
- Documented success in utilizing collaborative and adaptive leadership skills.
- This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in leading complex, high-visibility programs to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ability to navigate effectively through political environments.
- Familiarity with advanced assessment methodologies.
Clearance Requirements:
This position necessitates a minimum of a Secret Security Clearance, with the expectation that the hired candidate will obtain a Top Secret Clearance within one year of employment.
