Job Summary

Houston Methodist Specialty Physician Group is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner PRN to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our patients' treatment plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultation, while maintaining and promoting the health of our patients.
  • Work in both inpatient and outpatient settings, performing according to the nurse practice act of the State of Texas and as part of a treatment team.
  • Model compassionate communication with patients, physicians, and the interprofessional healthcare team, and provide education to patients about preventative care and prescribed treatments.
  • Conduct physicals, order tests, and serve as a patient's healthcare provider, prescribing medications as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional healthcare team to manage and coordinate patient care, advocating on behalf of patients and families to identify and resolve clinical and ethical concerns.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing
  • Two years of registered nurse, advanced practice, or nurse practitioner clinical experience
  • RN licensure in the State of Texas or Compact State licensure within 60 days
  • APRN licensure in the State of Texas
  • BLS and ACLS certifications
  • DEA licensure within 6 months
  • AP prescriptive authority in the State of Texas
  • Magnet or AANP certification as a Nurse Practitioner
