We are seeking a Senior Spacecraft Power Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Space Exploration Sector, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of reliable spacecraft power systems for APL's missions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in battery development, test, and integration. You will lead the development of electrochemical batteries for multiple space flight programs, collaborating closely with systems engineers to ensure seamless integration with spacecraft systems.

Your primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and test high-performance electrochemical batteries, including lithium-ion cells, safety features, and thermal management. You will work closely with packaging, structural, thermal, and other engineers to design batteries meeting challenging requirements.

You will also prepare specifications, statements of work, drawings, parts lists, test plans, procedures, test reports, and review packages. Additionally, you will perform modeling, simulation, and worst-case analysis to verify end-of-life performance and present at design reviews.
