About the Role:
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a highly skilled Spacecraft Power Electronics Engineer to join our esteemed team. As a key member of our Spacecraft Power Engineering Group, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and testing reliable spacecraft power systems for APL's space sector and broader space community.

Your Responsibilities:
* Design, analyze, and test space flight power electronics with emphasis on reliability, efficiency, and safety.
* Define and develop ground support equipment products to support flight hardware verification, ensuring seamless integration with mission objectives.
* Perform technical trade studies to optimize system performance, considering factors such as power requirements, thermal management, and radiation tolerance.
* Develop and verify hardware requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
* Generate fabrication drawings and support production, working closely with manufacturers to ensure high-quality components meet mission-critical standards.
* Characterize performance of your hardware designs, conducting thorough testing and validation to ensure reliable operation under various environmental conditions.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, supplemented by 6+ years of experience in developing high-reliability power electronics hardware. Your expertise should include circuit simulation, worst-case analysis, derating analysis, and test procedure development. Additionally, you should be able to obtain a Secret-level security clearance, meeting eligibility requirements that include U.S. citizenship.
