Job Summary:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our physicians and mid-level providers. Your primary responsibility will be to provide instructions to patients as directed by the providers, ensuring that they receive the best possible care. You will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with all OSHA/CLIA and HIPAA regulations, as well as ensuring the completion of all duties vital to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care by giving clear direction to the patient, addressing patient concerns about the exam, and documenting appropriately in the patient chart.
  • Ensure completion of all forms vital to the revenue cycle, including verification/clarification of orders, waivers for non-covered services, and encounter forms.
  • Provide instructions to patients under the direction of the provider(s), ensuring complete and accurate information in the patient chart.
  • Maintain an adequate level of supplies in exam rooms and workstations, clean and disinfect exam rooms, and perform cleaning, maintenance, and/or sterilization of equipment and instruments.
  • Assist with completion of patient requests, including referral process/outpatient test scheduling and precertification.
  • Interact with the Central Billing Office as needed to resolve patient issues.
Requirements:

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

Experience: 6 months to 1 year of experience preferred.

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and ability to learn other computer skills.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to work professionally with doctors, hospital administration and management, SEP employees, and the public.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team-based decision-making culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, resulting in effective outcomes and on-time performance.
  • Experience in planning and coordinating multi-disciplinary communications strategies, strategic initiatives, and events.
  • Ability to respond and follow through to requests from customers promptly.
  • Ability to work carefully and precisely with attention to detail.
  • Ability to utilize resources wisely.
  • Performs duties willingly and with initiative. Shares necessary information so co-workers can do the same.
  • Cooperates with other departments and work groups.
Licenses and Certifications: Current state LPN license.
