About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Furnace Operator to join our team at The Weir Group PLC. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for melting steel to a molten bath, maintaining the refractory lining of the furnace, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a clean and hazard-free work area
  • Tap on pitch and update pitch boards
  • Collect and analyze data, demonstrating a strong work ethic and attendance record
  • Participate in lean initiatives, including 6S, Visual Management, and Kaizen
  • Perform other duties as directed by management
  • Demonstrate a 100% commitment to our zero-harm behaviors and support our drive towards a world-class safety culture
Requirements
  • Associate degree or High School diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting
  • Forklift experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
