Purpose of Role: The position involves melting steel to create a molten bath and requires expertise in maintaining and repairing the furnace's refractory lining. The individual must understand the equipment and refractory materials used, regularly inspect the lining for wear, and apply coatings to ensure optimal performance. Collaboration with maintenance teams and adherence to safety protocols are essential to minimize risks and enhance the furnace's efficiency and longevity. Overall, this role is crucial for the effective operation of steel melting facilities .

Key Responsibilities:

• Work Area Maintenance : Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and free of hazards. Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
• Pitch Management :Manage and update pitch boards accurately. Perform tapping on pitch as required to support operational needs.
• Data Collection : Collect, record, and manage data with precision. Utilize data to support operational decision-making and performance tracking.
• Work Ethic and Attendance : Demonstrate a strong commitment to job responsibilities and company values. Maintain an excellent attendance record, ensuring consistent and reliable presence.
• Positive Attitude : Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times. Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Lean Initiatives: Actively participate in lean initiatives such as 6S, Visual Management, and Kaizen. Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
• Additional Duties : Perform other duties as assigned by management. Adapt to various tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team and company goals

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong reading, writing, computer, and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred: Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish) and experience in materials planning, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or supply chain management.
