Position: Assistant Store Manager

Location: Main St. Old Saybrook Store 63

Role Summary:

The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the store in the absence of the General Manager. This position supports the General Manager in various aspects of store management, including analyzing business performance and implementing strategies for improvement. The Assistant Store Manager is also responsible for ensuring that all team members deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a welcoming shopping environment for all customers.
  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Implement the training program for all Customer Service Associates (CSAs) and provide hands-on training to enhance operational proficiency.
  • Oversee daily task assignments and performance evaluations for all team members, including recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Delegate responsibilities and monitor progress as needed.
  • Offer guidance, motivation, and support to associates.
  • Evaluate and optimize business processes to achieve store objectives profitably.
  • Manage cash handling and lottery operations.
  • Uphold principles of Integrity, Honesty, and Respect in all interactions.
  • Assist the General Manager with additional tasks and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing and directing teams.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate business needs, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills for addressing customer and team member issues.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Goal-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 35 lbs.
