Job Title: HVAC Technician

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation is seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing environmental-control systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Install and Service Environmental-Control Systems: Utilize knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layouts to install, service, and repair environmental-control systems.
  • Perform Trade Functions: Install, maintain, or repair heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including startup, turnover, and shutdown procedures.
  • Connect and Test Systems: Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Inspect and Repair Systems: Inspect systems for leaks and observe pressure and vacuum gauges to ensure proper operation.
  • Assemble and Install Ductwork: Assemble and install ductwork and chassis parts using appropriate tools and welding equipment.
  • Perform Electrical Work: Replace or repair defective breaker controls, generators, transformers, controllers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, air conditioning ducting, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring to repair installed units.
  • Document Maintenance Actions: Document maintenance actions in the IEMS system.
  • Meet Quality and Safety Standards: Consistently produce quality products and services, and perform all work in a safe and secure manner.
Requirements:
  • Education: High School Diploma required.
  • Certifications: EPA required certification training, State certified HVAC Technician.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years related experience.
  • Background Check: Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
  • Communication Skills: Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
  • Teamwork: Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Physical Demands: Duties will require frequent periods of sitting, standing, kneeling, walking, crouching, bending, crawling, reaching, and balancing. Physically fit to frequently bend, stoop, and lift in awkward positions and able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.
  • Work Schedule: Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Driver's License: Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Safe Driving Record: Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Background Check: Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
