Position Summary

The Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is tasked with providing nursing care within a designated area of the facility. This role involves collaboration with team members in an ASC setting, which may include cross-training in various primary functions such as assisting with patient turnover and supporting daily operational activities of the center. Additionally, the nurse is responsible for managing the telephone pre-admission assessment process for patients within the ASC.

Qualifications
  • Education: An Associate Degree in Nursing is required; graduation from an accredited nursing program is essential. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in an ASC, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), or operating room is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: A current RN license in the relevant state is mandatory. Certifications in ACLS and PALS are preferred.
  • Essential Skills: A comprehensive understanding of the RN role and the ability to perform duties as outlined in the NC Nurse Practice Act. Capable of prioritizing and organizing unit workload. Knowledge and skills to adapt care based on the patient's age-specific needs. Proficient in telephone screening and patient interviewing techniques.
