Job Title: Maintenance Technician

At The Village for Families & Children, we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our properties, including grounds maintenance, minor plumbing and electrical work, and providing courier and office support services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily grounds checks to identify and address any issues or safety concerns.
  • Conduct monthly and periodic inspections of all facilities and vehicles to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes.
  • Monitor buildings for any potential hazards and take corrective action as needed.
  • Assist with setting up and breaking down rooms for meetings and events.
  • Coordinate with vendors for agency inspections and ensure that all necessary supplies are available.
  • Provide courier services, including sorting, picking up, and delivering agency mail.
  • Shuttle vehicles for inspection and service.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CT driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Two years' experience in an affiliated construction trade or property maintenance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting as a team member.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, and able to handle crisis situations in a calm manner.
  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
