Maintenance Technician Assistant

The Maintenance Technician position at Community Wellness Partners is a vital role that requires a skilled and detail-oriented individual. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair work on the buildings and grounds, including plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, refrigeration, gardening, and electrical work.
- Our ideal candidate will have the ability to observe and maintain machinery and electro/mechanical equipment, including heating, plumbing, and refrigeration equipment.
- They will also be skilled in dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts for repair or replacement, lubrication, or cleaning.
- Additionally, they will be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for checking, testing, and operating fire alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency generators.
- They will also set up and use drill presses, bench saws, and hand-operated electrical tools and check guards.
- The successful candidate will operate devices to test their performance.
- They will also perform and document Preventive Maintenance.
- Our Maintenance Technician will remove snow from walks, fire exits, steps, landings, driveways, and parking areas.
- They will conduct periodic maintenance as needed.
- The successful candidate will maintain lawns, grounds, shrubs, trees, and flower beds.
- They will move or relocate furniture or equipment.
- The Maintenance Technician will assist in trash and garbage collection, incineration, and/or removal from the buildings.
- They will work other shifts as directed.
- The successful candidate will attend all safety-related in-service classes as required by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
- They will adhere to the requirements of the Community Wellness Partners Safety Program.
- The Maintenance Technician will perform other duties as required.
- Working Conditions:
- The successful candidate will sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently during working hours.
- They will be subject to frequent interruptions.
- Our Maintenance Technician will be involved with residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies, and personal.
- They will communicate with other departments.
- The successful candidate may be asked to work beyond normal working hours.
- They will attend and participate in in-service educational programs and maintain required hours.
- Specific Requirements:
- The successful candidate must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- They must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Our Maintenance Technician must possess leadership and the willingness to work harmoniously with supervisors and staff.
- They must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- The successful candidate must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
- They must be in good health and be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position.
- The Maintenance Technician must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- They must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- The successful candidate must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, angry people within the facility.
- They must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
- The Maintenance Technician must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
