Child Development Educator

Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled Child Development Educator to implement curriculum and facilitate enriching classroom experiences for our students. As a floater, you will also substitute in the absence of regular teachers and provide additional support in various locations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and execute engaging classroom activities based on our program-specific curriculum.
- Create individual educational plans for each student, ensuring their unique needs are met.
- Safely supervise and interact with children in a positive manner.
- Develop and maintain learning centers that cater to the interests and needs of enrolled children.
- Provide a diverse range of experiences that emphasize active learning.
- Maintain a well-supervised and safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and staff while using sensitivity and good judgment.
- Implement all organization and program policies and procedures.
- Cultivate language development and respect for language diversity in the classroom and community.
- Facilitate monthly site staff meetings.
- Supervise associate teachers and assistant teachers in the classroom.
- Perform other duties as assigned to create a quality preschool program.
- A Child Development Teacher Permit is required.
- An Associate degree in Child Development or a related field, or 24 units in Child Development and 16 units in General Education (depending on the age group).
- Three semester units in Administration with a passing grade of C or better.
- Current certification in Pediatric CPR and Pediatric First Aid acceptable to Community Care Licensing (Health and Safety Code 1596.866), and to be renewed every two years.
- Health screening and TB clearance, to be renewed every five years.
- Proof of immunization for TDap, MMR, whooping cough, and yearly influenza (waiver may be accepted for influenza).
- Clear live scan background screening.
- Complete mandated reporter certification training, to be renewed every two years.
- Ability to communicate in written and oral English correctly and effectively.
- A California driver's license, daily use of an automobile, and automobile liability insurance.
- Preferred: Command of Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese.

The estimated hourly salary for this position is $27.94 - $37.57 per hour. Floaters qualify for an additional 5% pay differential.
