Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facility inspections, project sites, and Workers' Compensation claims

  • Manage inspections of construction, renovation, and repair project sites for compliance with safety standards
  • Coordinate maintenance of safety-related procedures and plans, including the electronic Safety Data Sheet database
  • Assist with facilities and grounds inspections for insurance and compliance purposes
  • Inspect and maintain safety devices, including AED systems, emergency eyewash/showers, and first aid kits
  • Coordinate updates and responses to the Communicable Disease Plan
  • Develop and implement effective safety-related signage, including safety plan cards and evacuation route maps
Requirements
  • An associate degree from a regionally accredited institution is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in industrial or organizational safety programs and applications or an equivalent amount of education and experience is required
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, orally, and in writing
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software packages, including web-based technology tools
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA 30 certification is required, or the ability to complete OSHA 30 certification within 60 days of employment
  • A valid North Carolina Driver's License and a driving record which allows applicant to be insurable under WCC's auto insurance policy is required
