Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive safety plan to reduce the college's experience modification rate
- Coordinate facility inspections, project sites, and Workers' Compensation claims
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Operations Division entities to provide support for all college initiatives
- Manage inspections of construction, renovation, and repair project sites for compliance with safety standards
- Coordinate maintenance of safety-related procedures and plans, including the electronic Safety Data Sheet database
- Assist with facilities and grounds inspections for insurance and compliance purposes
- Inspect and maintain safety devices, including AED systems, emergency eyewash/showers, and first aid kits
- Coordinate updates and responses to the Communicable Disease Plan
- Develop and implement effective safety-related signage, including safety plan cards and evacuation route maps
- An associate degree from a regionally accredited institution is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred
- Three to five years of experience in industrial or organizational safety programs and applications or an equivalent amount of education and experience is required
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, orally, and in writing
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software packages, including web-based technology tools
- Occupational Safety and Health Administration OSHA 30 certification is required, or the ability to complete OSHA 30 certification within 60 days of employment
- A valid North Carolina Driver's License and a driving record which allows applicant to be insurable under WCC's auto insurance policy is required
