Position Overview – Safety Program Director:
Join Atlantic Group in a pivotal role as the Safety Program Director. This full-time position is tasked with spearheading the formulation, execution, and supervision of extensive safety protocols and initiatives, aimed at safeguarding the health and security of employees, clients, and the community.
Compensation: $110,000 - $130,000/year
Key Responsibilities of the Safety Program Director:
- Leadership in Safety Programs: Design and implement thorough safety programs, policies, and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Direct initiatives to ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
- Safety Audits and Inspections: Establish a framework for monitoring and reporting safety audits and inspections, compile results, and ensure necessary corrective actions are executed.
- Data Management Systems: Oversee online data systems for contractor and customer prequalification and compliance management.
- Training and Development Programs: Create and implement safety training programs for all personnel, incorporating safety training into onboarding and continuous professional development.
- Incident Investigation Management: Supervise the examination of safety incidents, identify underlying causes, and propose preventive strategies.
- Fleet Safety Oversight: Ensure that vehicles and equipment adhere to safety standards, implement fleet safety policies, and monitor driver safety practices.
- Continuous Safety Improvement: Foster ongoing enhancements in safety performance through regular assessments and updates of safety protocols.
Qualifications for the Safety Program Director:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
- Certification: Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or an equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior safety leadership capacity, ideally within an industrial or construction setting.
- Knowledge Base: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations and pertinent safety standards.
- Skill Set: Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities, with a proven capacity to work autonomously and prioritize effectively.
- Fleet Management Experience: Proven experience in managing fleet safety and utilizing fleet management systems.
