Job Summary

Cedars-Sinai seeks a highly skilled Pharmacist to serve as the primary professional staff member in the Department of Pharmacy responsible for clinical and medication use policies within the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network Foundation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement clinical and medication use policies to ensure timely, appropriate, and cost-effective drug therapy for patients.
  • Analyze pharmaceutical usage and cost trends to identify opportunities for cost reduction and develop clinical initiatives to achieve these goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and implement new policies and procedures, and educate staff and physicians on the approach.
  • Provide clinical support and oversight for utilization management activities, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Develop and maintain drug product reviews and recommendations, assessing drug use trends, new drug releases, and primary literature.
  • Set criteria for medication review of non-formulary or non-preferred drug list medications and communicate recommendations.
  • Provide education to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and allied healthcare professionals regarding safe medication use and changes in medication policy.
  • Assist with training of pharmacy residents and pharmacy students, and with continuing education activities for pharmacy staff and physicians.
Requirements
  • Strong comfort level with data analysis and prior knowledge of high-cost drug classes.
  • Ability to lead at a cross-functional level and steward recommendations forward within various leadership forums.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
