About the Role

Bennett & Pless Inc is a leading structural engineering consulting firm in the Southeast, with over 60 years of experience in delivering exceptional results to our clients. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team.

Job Description

This role involves leading a team to design and analyze structural elements and systems for various project types, including manufacturing, distribution, data centers, schools, medical facilities, adaptive reuse, renovations, and sign structures. As a Senior Engineer, you will serve as a technical specialist, mentor junior and mid-level team members, and provide oversight on design calculations, construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals.

You will also be responsible for coordinating information across disciplines, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and Bennett & Pless quality levels. Additionally, you will perform QA/QC of work performed by others, mentor and provide oversight to the engineering team, and contribute to the learning, professional development, and growth of the assigned team.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Master's degree preferred
  • Active Professional Engineer license
  • 15+ years' experience required in structural engineering
  • Experience with industry-standard software, such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, Microsoft products, Bentley (RAM) products, EnerCalc, Adapt, Tekla, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedda, etc.
  • Project management experience/ability is required
  • Structural design experience utilizing different construction materials and structural systems; including but not limited to steel, concrete, and masonry design in low to mid-rise structures
