School Nurse Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled School Nurse to join our team at Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students and staff.

Job Summary
This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and community members to provide comprehensive health services. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations.

Responsibilities
The School Nurse will be responsible for:
  • Providing temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff.
  • Serving as a health advocate for students.
  • Notifying parents of accidents or illnesses and securing medical care for students in emergency cases.
  • Coordinating management systems to administer medications to students at school.
  • Performing screening procedures as required by state and district policies.
  • Making referrals as necessary.

Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must have:
  • A graduate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • A current registered nurse license in Texas.
  • Certification in CPR and AED.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in a school setting.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is $57,250 - $80,668 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
