Job Summary

The Mental Health Professional plays a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to clients in need. Reporting to the Program Director, this individual will work closely with clients, families, and community partners to deliver comprehensive mental health care.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide mental health services to children, youth, and families, including assessment, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, plan development, group therapy, and case management.
  2. Collaborate with community partners to coordinate care, identify resources, and reduce barriers for clients and families receiving mental health treatment.
  3. Document service provision in electronic medical records in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to program standards.
  4. Comply with program standards for documentation, evidence-based practices, treatment planning, discharge planning, and quality assurance.
  5. Participate in regular team and staff meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  6. Complete at least 40 hours of required training to enhance professional development.
  7. Physical presence in the office is required, and employees must follow reporting requirements for incidents of child abuse, elder abuse, adult abuse, dependent adult abuse, and Tarasoff warnings.
  8. Drive on agency business, adhering to agency insurer authorization and proper insurance.
Essential Job Requirements
  1. Licensed in the State of California as a Clinical Social Worker, Marriage Family Child Therapist, or other relevant licensure.
  2. Unlicensed: A Master's degree in behavioral science with current intern registration (M.F.T. or L.C.S.W.).
  3. Demonstrated skills in clinical mental health services with individuals, families, and groups.
  4. Knowledge of mental illness and effective treatment approaches to mental disorders.
  5. Strong oral and written communication skills, with intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  6. Ability to operate within EMR systems, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other communication platforms.
  7. Possess a valid driver's license, have access to a dependable means of transportation, and adhere to agency insurance requirements.
  8. Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment physical, drug screen, general physical, and TB test.
  9. Must be available by cell phone as needed.
Essential Job Requirements for Bilingual Skill
  1. Communicate effectively in written and spoken Spanish.
  2. Required ability to communicate effectively with monolingual Spanish-speaking clients and families for all clinical purposes.
  3. Assist with phone calls for Spanish clients.
  4. Required to provide language translations for case managers and physicians on a periodic basis.
  5. Other translation tasks as required.
