We are excited to announce an opportunity for a motivated Mental Health Advocate to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Seattle Washington

As a key member of our team, you will support youth who may have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect in developing coping strategies and skills to manage their emotions and behaviors.

About the Role

This is a full-time position that requires providing emotional support, connecting youth with resources, and promoting positive relationships within our community.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with youth, families, and community agencies to identify and address mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized plans to promote healthy behaviors, self-esteem, and resilience.
  • Connect youth with local resources, such as counseling services, support groups, and recreational activities.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as psychology, social work, or counseling.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth in a supportive capacity.
  • Strong communication, active listening, and crisis management skills.
