About the Role

Central Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) is seeking a highly motivated Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Syracuse.

This role plays a critical part in supporting the overall success of our organization by providing exceptional HR services and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Act as a liaison between HR and employees, responding to queries and resolving issues efficiently.
  2. Assist in organizing and coordinating special events, such as benefits enrollment and employee recognition programs.
  3. Deliver high-quality new employee orientations, complete with thorough paperwork reviews and follow-ups.
  4. Work closely with department heads to streamline temporary employment arrangements and manage associated documentation.
  5. Lend support to employee relations initiatives, encompassing workplace investigations and disciplinary actions.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and create necessary correspondence as required.

Competency Requirements:

  • Hold an Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of three years' experience in human resources.
  • Exhibit superior computer skills and ability to analyze diverse reports and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrate outstanding listening skills and articulate thoughts clearly.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
Compensation Package

We offer an annual salary range of $52,000 - $62,000, contingent upon relevant experience.
