Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at The University of Kansas Health System. As a key member of our Environmental Services department, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect all surgical areas, including operating rooms, recovery rooms, and associated areas, to ensure a sterile environment for patient care.
  • Operate specialized cleaning equipment, such as floor care machines, to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Restock and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with the Operating Room Director and housekeeping supervisor to ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed to the highest standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest cleaning techniques and protocols.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
  • Successful completion of specialized surgical area cleaning training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in housekeeping or a related field.
