Role and Responsibilities

The Insurance Verification Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless patient care by verifying insurance and investigating any missing information that prohibits verification. This individual maintains a strong relationship with the third-party insurance verification vendor, ensuring timely and accurate verification.

  • Collaborate with the third-party insurance verification company to verify patient insurance in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Act as a liaison between insurance providers, staff, and patients regarding eligibility, payments, approvals, and other related matters.
  • Navigate various insurance companies' processes to achieve consistent outcomes and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Communicate with patients to explain the cost associated with treatment and provide clear guidance on their insurance benefits.
  • Update and maintain patient insurance information within the practice management system.
  • Meet deadlines and prioritize work to ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to patient schedules.
Education and Experience
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate's degree or vocational school training preferred.
  • At least one year of relevant experience is necessary to excel in this role.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of medical and dental terminology is essential.
  • Understanding of medical and dental insurance benefits is crucial.
  • Proficiency in medical and dental coding is required.
  • Experience with dental practice management software and Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
