Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Mechanic to join our team at Spring Independent School District. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and minor repairs on auxiliary mechanical systems, ensuring the physical facilities are in a condition of operating excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled, periodic operational and maintenance checks and services on building systems and equipment daily.
  • Repair minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and paint items, as well as assist Technicians in repairs as assigned.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Check air-conditioning filters bi-monthly and change filters as needed.
  • Monitor control panels and/or maintain all building complex systems.
  • Touch up painting as needed.
  • Checks roof drains, gutters, and downspouts once a week minimum.
  • Check air-conditioning and/or commercial freezer systems for proper operation.
  • Clean condenser coils on chillers every 6 months, fan coil and air-handling units once every year at a minimum.
  • Inspects all playground equipment at least once a month and make repairs as required.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs, as required.
Requirements
  • Valid Texas Driver's license.
  • Five+ years of experience in related field (preferred).
Working Conditions

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment efficiently and effectively with frequent interruptions. Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Overtime is required as necessary.
