Job Title: Credit Officer II

At City National Bank, we're seeking a highly skilled Credit Officer II to join our Fund Finance Team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a critical role in providing credit and loan underwriting expertise to support the capital call and subscription lending group.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the loan management process by analyzing prospective loan transactions and credit worthiness of borrowers.
  • Validate credit analysis prepared by Credit Analysts and provide opinions and recommendations regarding proposed credit and potential risks.
  • Ensure all due diligence and background evaluation is complete and thorough before submitting Credit Risk Recommendations.
  • Review loan requests, LPAs, LP lists, PPMs, and historical financial information to evaluate credit structure and terms.
  • Determine sources and uses of funds, analyze industry data, competitive factors, historical performance, projected results, risks, and mitigating factors.
  • Ensure Credit Risk Recommendations contain well-supported recommendations or decisions, accurate risk ratings, and reliable data and analytics.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers and Credit Managers to determine credit strategy and provide balanced and appropriate credit guidance.
  • Develop and implement creative ways to structure credits, ensuring transactions are within profitability and portfolio risk standards.
  • Author credit approval memoranda and provide input on loan pricing and restructuring.
  • Perform quarterly Problem Loan reporting, including financial reviews of client's financial condition and monitoring covenants and conditions.
  • Escalate potential credit issues to Relationship Managers, Team Managers, and/or Credit Managers.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting capital call and subscription loans.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Strong credit analysis and accounting skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to work well independently and in teams.
