Fresenius Medical Care North America is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our dialysis healthcare team, you will provide safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate hemodialysis machines
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Support the organization's commitment to the Quality Enhancement Program (QEP) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
- Participate in process improvement activities to enhance patient satisfaction and quality of care
- Collaborate with the clinical team to educate patients and families on dialysis therapy and related care
- Perform and record pre- and post-dialysis evaluations, weights, and vital signs
- Document accurate and timely information regarding patient treatment and care
- Report any significant information or changes in patient condition to the registered nurse or supervisor
- Observe patient and conduct machine safety checks according to facility policy
- Participate in the recruitment process for new clinical staff and assist with clinical orientation and on-going training
- Deliver and maintain on-going competency evaluations/audits to ensure ongoing performance of other PCTs
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification as defined by Center for Medicaid/Medicare (CMS)
- At least five years patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred
- Continued employment dependent on successful completion of the organization's dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification
