Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Equipment Operator to join our team in Boston, MA. This is a full-time hourly position that requires the ability to operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure system requirements are within specification.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain plant equipment to ensure system requirements are within specification.
  • Determine appropriate loading of equipment.
  • Add or shut down boilers and auxiliaries as needed to maintain system reliability and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the daily duties of Auxiliary Operators.
  • Schedule and coordinate fuel oil deliveries to specific tanks.
  • Keep work areas clean and orderly and maintain safe working conditions.
  • Review logs, charts, and records.
  • Assist others as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to distinguish between different shades of color and transcribe numbers accurately.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to operate all Vicinity production equipment and associated auxiliaries.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and with a group of other operators and technicians.
  • Massachusetts Second Class Engineers License required.
  • Massachusetts Grade II Industrial Wastewater License.
  • Valid Drivers License to operate company vehicle.
Physical Requirements
  • Required to wear a half-face respirator or powered air respirators (PAPR) or proper safety procedures warrant use.
  • Required to lift and/or operate machinery, tools, etc., weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.
  • Required to work in confined spaces.
  • Required climbing ladders, and/or stairs.
  • Required to work in all adverse conditions, both indoors and outdoors, all seasons.
  • Required to work in hot areas.
