Divisional Grant Writer

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a skilled Divisional Grant Writer to support our fundraising efforts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for writing and editing private foundation grant applications and reports, maintaining a library of research and templates, and educating division leaders on best practices in grant management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with divisional officers and staff to assess funding needs and identify private grant opportunities.
  • Write, review, and edit grant applications and reports, incorporating current research and understanding of social service objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a library of research and statistics on social service issues, sample applications, and writing samples.
  • Conduct training sessions for program and administrative staff on grantmaking processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop a deep understanding of funders, funding trends, and effective ways to connect our organization to their service objectives.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in grant writing and management.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

Working Conditions:
This is a full-time, in-person opportunity with a working schedule of Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for making a difference and a solid background in grant writing and management.
