Job Overview

The Inpatient After Hours Coordinator Level II plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care coordination. Reporting directly to the After Hours Lead, this individual assists with generating authorization numbers and sending them to vendor hospitals as directed by the After Hour Nurse.

Assisting with repatriation of patients from out-of-network facilities to contracted/capitated facilities is another key responsibility. Ensuring contracted Hospitalists/Specialists are utilized for admissions, transfers, and repatriations is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate authorization numbers and send copies to vendor hospitals per Afterhours Nurse directive.
  • Assist with repatriation of patients from out-of-network facilities to their contracted/capitated facility.
  • Verify patient eligibility using EZ Cap, Health Plan website, Medical website, and Passport.
  • Support Afterhours Nurse Case Managers by calling hospitalist/specialist, sending transfer packet, following up on bed status, arranging transfer transportation, and confirming arrivals.
  • Call the hospital to request clinical reviews or medical records and archive into EZ CAP.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred. Three years of experience in a managed care setting, medical office, or facility setting with demonstration of medical administration duties is required.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on location and industry standards.
