Vascular Sonographer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sonographer/Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at NavitsPartners. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations on pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic vascular ultrasound examinations, including arterial, venous, and Doppler imaging for pediatric patients.
- Obtain high-quality images for interpretation by physicians, ensuring clarity and accuracy of all scans.
- Assess and evaluate vascular conditions such as blood clots, blockages, aneurysms, and other abnormalities.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, including pediatric specialists and radiologists, to provide thorough diagnostic information.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedure, maintaining a child-friendly environment to reduce anxiety.
- Adjust technical parameters to optimize image quality while minimizing the patient's exposure to ultrasound energy.
- Perform bedside and emergency imaging procedures as needed, especially in critical care settings.
- Maintain equipment by performing regular quality control checks and cleaning/disinfecting per infection control standards.
- Assist in preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures to patients and their families, and addressing any concerns.
- Record and maintain accurate patient information in the hospital's record system, ensuring proper documentation of procedures.
- Participate in departmental quality assurance activities and continuing education to stay updated on the latest techniques and standards in vascular ultrasound.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with a specialization in vascular imaging.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in vascular ultrasound, preferably in a pediatric setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in pediatric vascular ultrasound imaging.
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with pediatric patients and their families in a comforting manner.
- Knowledge of current vascular ultrasound techniques and protocols, especially for pediatric patients.
