Guaranteed Hours: 40.00 hours per week

Experience: 1 year of OR scrubbing experience preferred; 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred

License: None required

Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association

Must-Have: English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at Holy Rosary Healthcare. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique
  • Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
  • Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctors' preference lists
  • Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and all supplies as requested
  • Ensure and maintain a sterile environment
  • Assist the surgeon by passing instruments during cases
  • Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy
  • Assist in the maintenance and care of specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis
  • Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice
  • Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including cleaning up, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment
  • Care for instruments and equipment
  • Promote the organization's mission, vision, and values, and abide by service behavior standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • May float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business needs
  • May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or GED

Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program is required

Training in the US military may substitute for the completion of the formal surgical technologist training
