Job Title: Site Assessment and Remediation Field Technician

AKRF is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Technician to join our Site Assessment and Remediation practice. As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for executing and supervising field aspects of environmental monitoring, site assessment, and remediation projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execution and/or supervision of field aspects of environmental monitoring, site assessment, and remediation, including remedial excavation oversight, community air monitoring, supervising subcontractors, and installation and operation of mechanical remediation systems.
  • Completing and maintaining logs, recording field notes, maintaining in-house equipment, and ordering equipment.
  • Implementing work plans and standard operating procedures, communicating with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Requirements:
  • High-school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER, construction safety, and asbestos licensing a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, including fluency in spoken and written English.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with prior experience in construction oversight, sampling, and air monitoring.
  • Comfortable and capable of providing oversight and clear direction to field crews, coordinating material and equipment deliveries, and other field-related logistics.
  • Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather and to engage in physically demanding site assessment and remediation-related work.
  • Must reside in the New York metro area and be willing to work some nights and weekends.
  • Have a driver's license and be comfortable driving in the NYC metro area.

Compensation will range from $40K - $50K and commensurate with experience.
