Job Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician will provide support, skill training, and one-on-one supervision to clients as outlined in the treatment plan. This role is responsible for maintaining case records and documentation, coordinating facility operations, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides support, supervision, activities, and skills training to clients in individual and group settings, as outlined in the treatment plan.
  • Assists in preparing materials for the day treatment process, including preparing copies, packets, and group rooms.
  • Cleans program facilities and areas as needed or assigned.
  • Provides non-medical monitoring and medication monitoring of clients, following medical policies and procedures.
  • Conducts basic risk assessments and refers clients to program coordinators, primary clinicians, or on-call staff as needed.
  • Ensures clients' life and medical safety, behavioral control, and crisis prevention activities within the scope of practice.
  • Coordinates daily facility operations, including required monitoring, walkthroughs, and room searches.
  • Transports clients to access services and appointments as authorized by program needs and treatment plans.
  • May administer drug and alcohol screens/tests as needed and authorized by clinical staff or primary therapists.
  • Participates as a team member of the client's care team and utilizes assessments with clients as outlined in the program.
  • Maintains case records and other documentation as outlined in agency policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR/First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • Mental Health First Aid certification within the first 30 days of employment
  • MANDT certification within the first 30 days of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with people experiencing mental illness and/or substance use problems
  • Experience working with people who are actively experiencing a crisis
  • Experience working with people in a residential service environment
